HISTORY

THE BEGINNING IN LONDON

It all started in 2016 in London, where Antoine and Aurelien, two young entrepreneurs from the south of France, met during their studies. In this city known for its unpredictable weather, rain quickly became a fundamental problem in their daily lives ! One evening, while heading to a restaurant in pouring rain, they had a long discussion about the impracticality of umbrellas. Rarely functional, always wet, cumbersome, and often broken... They thought that in the 21st century, it must be possible to do much better, and thus embarked on the crazy project of completely rethinking and modernising the umbrella to make it both trendy and practical.

INNOVATIVE AND ALWAYS DRY UMBRELLAS

Initially, they worked on designing an umbrella that was more resistant and practical than an ordinary umbrella. Thanks to innovative materials, they developed a quality umbrella that was both durable and ergonomic. Then they had the idea to solve once and for all the problem of wet umbrellas. After months of work and numerous prototypes, they succeeded in creating the first absorbent cover for umbrellas, using a triple-layer absorption technology, which is patented. Thus, the Beau Nuage concept was born: a quality umbrella accompanied by an absorbent cover allowing it to be stored always dry !

MAKING YOU LOVE THE RAIN

These umbrellas were conceived from the start as fashion accessories, with refined colours and patterns to brighten rainy days. Their commercialization began in 2016 with a tour of France's stores, allowing Beau Nuage to establish partnerships with over fifty retailers in just a few months.

The Beau Nuage concept quickly caught on, attracting the attention of national media.
They were soon distributed in several stores in France and Europe, thus winning the hearts of many rain lovers.

The brand's motivation is unwavering to turn rainy days into moments of joy, and Beau Nuage's ambition is clear: to become the reference for umbrellas thanks to its innovative and elegant products !

ECOLOGICAL COMMITMENT

In 2020, our commitment took a major turn by producing the canopies of our umbrellas from recycled plastic bottles (rPET) ! Beau Nuage, keen to be a more responsible, ecological, and sustainable brand, articulates these commitments around people and the environment. Socially, Beau Nuage works with the ESAT in Antibes, which employs people with disabilities. Beau Nuage donates all its unusable umbrellas to people in need, and the non-usable umbrellas are recycled.

MONTAGUT GROUP

In 2022, Beau Nuage joined Montagut, an Ardèche-based group specialising in knitwear since 1880. With its century-old family heritage and expertise in ready-to-wear, Montagut brings its unique know-how to Beau Nuage in the development of its upcoming collections.

FIRST READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION

A new adventure began for Beau Nuage at the end of 2023 ! After 12 months of reflection and work, Beau Nuage is very proud to present its first ready-to-wear collection, including raincoats and fleeces. Trendy, technical, and eco-responsible clothing designed to appeal to both women and men. With our ecological commitment still at the heart of our mission, our products are made from recycled materials certified by the GRS Label (Global Recycled Standard).
