The 10th of October marks the World Homeless Day, a crucial moment to highlight the alarming reality faced by thousands of people without housing.
According to a report published in February 2025 by the Fondation pour le logement des défavorisés (formerly Fondation Abbé Pierre)¹, 350,000 people were homeless at the end of 2024. Among them, 5,000 to 6,000 sleep outside every night, including 1,000 to 3,000 children.
In addition, in 2024, 735 people died on the streets, the highest death toll recorded in 12 years, according to the Collectif Les Morts de la Rue (Collective for the Dead on the Streets).
These statistics, twice as high as in 2012, highlight the urgent need for action, especially with winter approaching, when rain and cold make daily life even more difficult.
