A parka differs from a classic raincoat by its design for cold seasons: it integrates a warm lining (fleece, down, or padding) combined with a waterproof exterior. It is the ideal garment for regions with rainy winters — you don't need to layer a coat and a raincoat.
At Beau Nuage, our approach is different: we offer a layering system with our Raincoat and our Fleece, two distinct pieces that complement each other perfectly. This system is more versatile than a monolithic parka: you can wear the fleece alone in dry cold weather, or the raincoat alone in mild rainy weather.

This depends on the lining. A parka with a light fleece is suitable down to about 0°C if you wear something underneath. For sub-zero temperatures, it is better to have a technical winter coat with a waterproof membrane and reinforced thermal insulation (down or Primaloft). The Beau Nuage system (raincoat + fleece) is suitable from 0°C to 15°C depending on the layers worn underneath.
How do I choose my size for a women's parka or raincoat?
